Open Brewery day in Cape Breton for Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week

As part of the inaugural Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week, Big Spruce Brewing is participating in Open Brewery Day on May 9th from 12 noon to 4 pm. Our doors, patio, brew floor, and hop yard will be wide open for all to visit! We’ve prepared a few special brews to sample on this day, and we’ve arranged for a few special events to occur on the property too:

– From 12 to 4pm, The Rolling Bricks from Antigonish will have their mobile wood fired pizza oven on site, and we will be serving up lots of complimentary pizza made with local ingredients like sausage and pepperoni from Forever Green Organics Farm. There will be a special pie done with Big Spruce beer in the pizza dough instead of water.
– From 1pm to 3pm, we’re pleased as beer punch to be welcoming the husband/wife duo of Donald and Angeline MacLennan to our tasting patio! Donald is from Chimney Corner and has agreed to take time from his busy schedule playing with the Ben Caplan Band so he can provide some fine fiddle tunes for us. Angeline, the only certified beer Cicerone in Nova Scotia will be leading a beer tasting of select and new Big Spruce beers!

Come help us thank our local community and celebrate Nova Scotian Craft beer, Big Spruce style! We will of course also be pouring growlers of all our beers, and our staff will be on hand to answer all of your nerdish beer questions! See you all here!
