The Island Food Network is now accepting applications for our Steering Committee. Help steward the food movement!
Cape Breton’s Island Food Network is an umbrella for collaborative food action. The goal of the network is to create a vibrant, healthy, just, and sustainable local food system.
The Steering Committee will facilitate the overall development and operation of the network. It will meet approximately four times per year to address issues related to strategic planning, communication and engagement, and finances. It will be supported in its work by a part-time network coordinator.
The Steering Committee will consist of 6 to 10 members representing communities across Cape Breton Island and a wide array of interests related to local food and food security. Most of all, Steering Committee members will be highly engaged community champions excited to build the food movement in Cape Breton Island.
If you are interested in being part of the Steering Committee, please complete the application form below by June 30th. For further information, contact Jody Nelson, Community Food Coordinator, Cape Breton at 902-489-5634 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
