ACAP Cape Breton

ACAP Cape Breton is dedicated to educating all ages in the community on benefits and DIYs of eating local and ecological gardening practices. We give ecological gardening workshops, partnered with local community groups, such as the Senior’s Café, church groups, gardening groups, Brownies and Scouts, and elementary schools. The topics we discuss include: the importance of eating local in maintaining a modest carbon footprint, composting, mulching, water conservation, and including native flora to attract pollinators to food gardens. ACAP Cape Breton has a plot at the Cape Breton University Community Garden as well as various pollinator and rain gardens around the CBRM.
